Actress Kristin Chenoweth Concussion

Perhaps this will drive home the point that concussions are serious business.

Actress Kristin Chenoweth, after sustaining a brain injury on location for “The Good Wife” on July 11, issued a statement Monday saying that she won’t be returning to the CBS show.

“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to ‘The Good Wife,'” Chenoweth told People magazine. “(I’m) getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern.”

The actress was hit on the head by a piece of lighting equipment that fell on her on the Brooklyn set of “The Good Wife.” She was hospitalized overnight after the accident.

Chenoweth, an Emmy and Tony winner who had a recurring role on the TV drama, has been tweeting about her recovery, according to People.

For example, on Aug 8 she tweeted, “Today not best ‘pain’ day. Remaining positive (I think).”

Chenoweth had a recurring role on “The Good Wife,” and will still appear in the show’s fourth season premiere on Sept. 30.
