Cleeland was killed when a hydraulic line broke at an oil rig at  Southeast 59th Street. He was “beneath the line when a pipe collapsed and hit him,” according to Koco.com.

Cleeland was pinned down, but several of his co-workers got him loose.  But his heart had stopped, and an attempt to perform CPR on him at the scene failed. He died there.

The Department of Health and Safety will investigate the incident.
